North East Gynaecology

Call our friendly team today for advice about making an appointment.

Dr Amelia Bock and Dr Laurel Bennett took over the running of Dr Leo Fogarty’s rooms at 63 Green Street in mid April 2017 under the name ‘Northeast Gynaecology’. Since this time two further consultant gynaecologists have joined us; Dr Kyle Waller and Dr Alexandra Miglic. Both Dr Yik Lim and Anne Pattersen continue to work in the rooms with us.

We continue the excellent standard of care that has always been provided by the Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Wangaratta. We aim to run our clinic in a socially responsible way attempting to use local businesses for services where possible and keeping our environmental footprint low.

We will continue to provide all antenatal care publically through the hospital antenatal clinic and labour ward. There is no plan to establish any private obstetric service currently. We are happy to see any high risk patients for pre pregnancy counselling and early pregnancy care.

Gynaecology care will continue to be through our privately billed clinic.

Fee Schedule

Today Medicare rebates do not cover the full cost of providing you with medical care. This is because the rate at which successive governments have indexed the Medicare Schedule fees has been substantially lower than increases in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and average weekly earnings.

The reality is that Medicare rebates do not cover the cost of providing you with a safe and high quality service. The fees charged by this practice have to cover all of our practice costs including employing receptionists and practice nurses, and meeting our operating expenses such as rent, medical equipment, electricity, computers and insurance.

It is not possible for this practice to meet our running costs each year without increasing our fees. The Medicare rebate freeze means that this practice is no longer able to bulk bill or routinely subsidise our patients.

Below is a list of the various fees you may be charged depending on the reason for your referral. If you have a new referral letter or if you are being seen for a new problem you will be charged an initial consult fee. (in conjunction with a fee for any other procedure that may be performed)
